I frequently see you guys talking about the use of chemicals for patination
and other stuff.

I want to STRONGLY urge you NEVER to use ANY chemical without first looking
up its safety information. Athough they can be a bit cryptic, the MSDS's
are a good source of such information.

There's a lot of stuff out there that can do you injury. Usually if you
simply KNOW about the hazard, then it's pretty easy NOT to get injured. So
look up those MSDS's.

If you need help finding an MSDS or interpreting it's content, feel free to
contact me about it. I'm a chemist, not a toxicologist, but I use chemicals
and MSDS's often enough that I"ve got a pretty good feel for what they mean
and when they're telling us to REALLY be careful.

If I can save even one of you a serious injury, I will consider any such
effort worthwhile.

Work safely,

Bruce
