Terry,  Behr in Rockford pays a whole lot more even w/  insulation.  Most 
scrap dealers are very picky about what the copper looks  like, ie they want wire 
because they dont worry about the composition.   They also want heavier wire 
versus lighter.  Most places strip wire by  rolling it between two rollers and 
sqishing it off.  The local across the  street from me does not have the 
machine.
