Jesse,
There is a knife makers news list I'm sure someone here can tell you how to
sign up. You can also join the ABS (american Bladesmiths Society), they
teach knife making.
My son is a bladesmith and I can assure you that it is not an easy road to
make a living making knives. Though it is a great hobby and can self fund by
selling a few knives each year.
The jump from knives to swords is huge. It is much harder to make a quality
sword than a quality knife. You need to develope your basic blacksmithing
skills, and learn how to make a quality knife, and then try your hand at
swords. You are young and have plenty of time to aquire the skills you
need.

Thank you Bruce. I have another question I don't think I can find the
answer on ABANA.org. I was wondering if any one on this email list does
sword making and if they can tell me, from their perspective, what its like
to be a sword maker and how lucritive(generally) it is.
