Well Don, I thought I could jot a couple down for you, but under Brown,
my book lists 53 recipes. This is just Brown, you understand, not Red,
Black, Green or Lustre. They're sorted by what kind of brown, dark
reddish brown, light brown bronzing, orange brown, mid brown, pink etc.
Probably way overkill for what you're after. If you want to dig in, let
me know.
The book is:
The Colouring, Bronzing and Patination of Metals
by Richard Hughes and Michael Rowe
Thames and Hudson (who have a whole lot of interesting books)
Note: iron is not on the list of metals, strictly non-ferrous, copper,
brass, bronze, silver.
