[TheForge] heel spurs

Yeah, that site's been down for months now. My ISP does not provide a
website, and I haven't found an alternative yet.
The simplification is long since complete. (It entailed making a
two-crank design into a one-crank design. The crank now adjusts the
treadle height versus the height of the hammer at the bottom of the
stroke - to allow for tooling, etc.) I don't have an accurate count of
those built, but I know of three.

Okay, Bruce. I tried to go to the website to check the current status
of the Grasshopper design and I could not get the URL to work
http://www.monmouth.com/~freeman/bmf/grashopr.htm Am I going to the
wrong URL?
I've always be fascinated by the grasshopper design and would love to
build one. I'm just not sure my fabrication skills are up to the task.
I think the last time I checked you were working on simplifying some of
the final design. What is the current status? Any idea how many have
been built so far?

Of course the REAL cure is to build yourself a Grasshopper Treadle
Hammer, which puts a lot less strain on your foot and leg than do
other
treadle hammers... 8^)
