Of course the REAL cure is to build yourself a Grasshopper Treadle
Hammer, which puts a lot less strain on your foot and leg than do other
treadle hammers... 8^)

Usually the spur forms when there is an injury to the arch tendon. You
get 
a small tear and then it calcifies to re attach itself. I ended up with

EXPENSIVE orthotic inserts and some injections from a podiatrist. can
walk 
again, but not like I used to. It's still painful some days. I would
avoid 
long runs on the treadle hammer and switch feet if possibly.
Could learn to enjoy the pain, but the shots at the Dr. help give you
time 
while it heals
