[TheForge] Mastermyr Replicas

So what I'm hearing here is that we wuld like it to have a stable
curator, yet be mobile for various events. That is, of course, the best
of all worlds.

Given this, perhaps for the time being it would be best to maintain the
current caretaker situation. I see no reason to rush to a decision. As
I said, I don't mind taking the collection for the time being, and if an
ideal situation makes itself apparent, we can make a decision at that
time. The collection will still be able to make the rounds in response
to requests.

There are, however, a couple of issues we should settle. First, how to
fund shipping. I may be back to work shortly and if so, I don't mind
footing a few bills here and there. The more serious issue is emergency
procedure in case the current possessor of the collection is unable to
personally pass it on. For example, what if someone dies while in
possession; we should have a procedure in place to ensure that the
collection does not end up at a garage sale only because family members
have no idea what it is or what to do with it. It can be as simple as
having the receiver provide broad contact information so that if
something happens, we have someone to call to make arrangements with.

Now that I've thought about it a bit, I still like the idea of the
collection remaining with "us", at least for a while longer. It has not
made all the rounds, so there is no need to sit in one place in
perpetuity, yet.

Just my plugged kopek's worth.
