[TheForge] glass doors

Frosty,
I haven't tried any ceramic that good, but did replace my tempered glass
doors with ceramic after they blew out. The ceramic has withstood over 25
years of fires. I wouldn't even consider going back to tempered glass.

On the topic of fire door glass types. Has anybody
tried the ceramic they're putting in stoves and
fireplace doors now?

According to the literature the stuff is good to 1,700f
and you can toss a glass of cold water on it at that
temp without hurting it.

Comes to us from the Shuttle program I believe.
