	Pressure to ignite diesel is only about 200-220 psi.  If we assume a 
15:1 compression and beginning at standard pressure and temperature, you 
will raise the pressure to 15 atmospheres or 220.5 psi.
If your piston is precisely .1 sq inch in area, whacking the piston with 
22 pounds of force will compress the air to 15 atmospheres and you will 
produce a lot of heat in a small volume.
