[TheForge] Anybody out there?

I am building two steel wheels for a clients dock. Cold rolled two 36" dia x
1/4 x 1 1/4 rims yesterday on my ancient cast iron roller.
Anybody know why the ends are always flat for 6" or so? Is this just a
design flaw in these old machines?
