[TheForge] OT question.

All modern bikes

1 down and 4 or more gears up.

With the bike clutch pulled in, roll it back and forth with the engine off.
Push the gear shift down firmly until it stops, in pulses, several times,
until it refuses to go down. You are in first.

Just above first is neutral. Put the foot underneath the shift lever and
pull it up about 1/2 way. Let the clutch out and you should be able to roll
freely.

To go up into any gear, shift up, with effort, until the pedal stops.
Except when shifting into neutral.

It is possible to go into neutral either going down or up, it just takes a
different feel.

Most modern bikes have a dash light that comes on when it is in neutral.

DANGER, it is possible to be in neutral (or sometimes a gear) but not in
there good and the transmission can slip into something unexpected.

I would politely suggest that the safety training class is very useful.

Years ago when I started riding, the statistics were

Over 70% of all bike accidents occurred during the first 6 months of
ownership.

Over 70% of all bike accidents occurred because a 4 wheeler did something
unexpected.

Yes, there is overlap in the statistics<G>.

All the best.

Subject: [TheForge] OT question.

My son has his KZ750K Kawasaki just about set for a test ride.

We have not been able to determine the shifting pattern. If anyone out
there has one of these please post me at
GHS at execpc.com.
