[TheForge] Electric Blower question

The motor is speeding up because you are decreasing it's load.  It does not
have to move as much air and spins faster as a result.  While this is not
bad on its own, it sounds like the motor is still running too fast at the
lowest speed (voltage) delivered by the control.  If it is, in fact an old
rheostat, I would consider getting a better control that allows for better
low-speed operation.

A Tee fitting is good for an air gate.  Or put an exhaust upstream from your
air gate.  My Johnson control oven used a gate on the intake.
