What alloy is the brass tubing and rod you can find at the hardware store?  Can it be forged?

actually silicon bronze and navel bronze both forge beautifully. Short
learning curve to get the correct temp.....but then.....it's addictive.
And the ball bearing idea is a great way to flare the tube. :)
