Sounds like a neat trick.

Or ... sweep the lights -- I've got a shop with 4' units (2 & 4 bulbs) that 
I scavenged from the university dump (a buck a pop with bulbs - not to 
complain) -- on cold days (ok, it's Florida - anything under 60F), it's a 
dark cave. A quick sweep with the floor broom along the bulbs pops them on 
(though occassionally a quick dip of the broom in the slack tub is needed 
for one particularly difficult unit).  Besides you can weird out visitor....
