I guess I have had extraordinary good luck with my tools from Harbor freight
tools. I have a drill that I got from them for better than 20 years now.
My grinder is going on five years. I have three of them. I bought a homier
grinder and it lasted almost 5 min before I let the smoke out. I have a 4
inch Makita that is nice except that it has a breaker on it that I keep
popping. A question I have is , Were you using the grinder for a continues
1 1/2 hours? If so I know of only a few tools that will stand up to that
type of use.

The last two HF grinders I had, one lasted a weekend and the other (I
bought hoping the first one was defective) went on fire while I was using
it after about 1 1/2 hours. It made for an interesting morning. Bought a
Bosch, after two years I bought another Bosch just to have around keeping
the other company (Really to cut down on wheel changes)
The only time the Bosch stops is when you wear the brushes down to a
certain extent and this little plunger pops out shutting it off. $6 for new
brushes and I'm off for a few new years. Different people different luck?
I'm hard on my tools and I appreciate it when they laugh at me..
