Thinking about it, I'm wondering if commercial coke (hard as a ROCK) wouldn't make good chips for a chip forge. Yes, some of it would burn up, but it burns fairly clean. Most of it would not burn up simply for lack of oxygen. And graphite crucibles have long been used for casting metal, so they can take the heat. Bruce NJ
