I have an optical mouse on the MAC that I use to edit our newsletter.
The only problem I have with it is, if I go over a scratch on the desk it
gets disorented and the pointer just takes off.  If I used a mouse pad I
could avoid this but I don't the desk space, after computer, keyboard,
scanner, and printer I've got about one sq. foot for the mouse and writing.
