depends on how you define 'work'.
i personally would not use them.
before you purchase one ask the store for the material safety data
sheet, which they are required to have.
most have the following chemicals impregnated in the log.
Isopropanol 000067-63-0 <10
Cobalt acetate 000071-48-7 <1
Manganese acetate 000638-38-0 <2
Copper sulfate 007758-98-7
Trisodium phosphate (unspecified) 999999-82-2
also read the fine print on the log. pay particular attention to how
they use words like 'may' and 'might'.
at least manufacturer was found to be false advertising.
