Thanks Chuck, and they should realize that over 2 million people were
displaced in one way or another by this hurricane and something like 170,000
small businesses in the two state region, including mine were destroyed.

I'm reminded of the story of 3 blind men trying to describe an elephant by
each feeling a small, different part of it's body.
About 90% of what was reported about Katrina by the national media was
erroneous and shoddy reporting.
Very little has been done by the government or national aid organizations to

restore the Mississippi Coast. The National media has almost totally ignored

us.
The national reporters prefer to visit New Orleans where they can find nice
hotel rooms and eat good meals in the parts of the city that didn't flood,
rather than sleep in a tent and eat MRE,s. on the coast.
There is about 70 miles of coast line that is completely devastated.
The storm surge went as far as 30 miles inland and the wind and water damage

was devastating hundreds of miles inland.
The damage was several orders of magnitude worse than is being reported.
There are still folks who are living in tents down here because FEMA still
hasn't supplied them with trailers.
The people that made a major difference after the storm were church groups
and individuals many of them local people who volunteered to help.
If we waited for the government and or National organizations we would still

be waiting like New Orleans is.
About 80,000 homes were completely destroyed and over 300,000 were severely
damaged.
Many of the gulf coast people believe that the rest of the U S feels like
Walt does, and has all ready written them off.
