When ever I demonstrated at schools or for school groups, I always
incorporated alittle history myself into the presentation. Is this something
your shop owner would be able to do? Or maybe another smith in the area.

Subject: [TheForge] Brief History of Blacksmithing

Greetings,

And now for something different! Sorry, couldn't help myself, anyway... As
co -chairman of Cultural Arts Committee in our local PTA, I am organizing a
field trip to a local artist-blacksmith's shop for 4th through 6th graders.
I want to give the teachers some information on blacksmithing to acclimate
the students to what they will be seeing. Does anyone have any ideas as to
what existing printed information on the history of blacksmithing I can
supply. I'm trying to get away with not writing something myself. The
other aspects of organizing the trip are time consuming enough. It should
be brief because the teachers can't afford to spend too much time on
something unrelated to the curriculum. Anything??

Regards,
Bill Woolley
