	That's the really sick aspect of it.  When I was in the UFT, they sold 
our hides up the river.  What's the point of even having them?  I can 
see of they are succeeding in extorting  absurd wages for pushing 
brooms, but paying dues just to lose money and standards... where's the 
sense in that?

	Just to clarify a point: while I wholly despise unions, they did do 
some good back in the day when their influence helped to improve working 
conditions through legislation, thought I'm not really sure that even 
those should have been allowed. Precedents such as this open doors to 
serious trouble, and I believe we can see this in operation all around us.
