Anyone else remember the GoM conference in Hastings Mn where the adult
daughter of a guild blacksmith was shopping for items & ideas to have
reproduced in China.
Saw on the news a week ago. A new Chinese car company intends to market
spartan $10 K cars . Their news media promo car in Chicago , looked like
a real car too.
5 years ago the president of that Chinese company was just launching a
startup company: making small repair parts. Union or no Union, Robotics
or not, competing with the Chinese wage scale is eating up European and
North American manufacturing jobs. Toward that trend, we will have only
the medical profession , and government jobs that aren't "out sourced".
I don't have a daughter working as a flight attendant... so if we follow
the mentality.. if it is not my job, and I can save money on my next
flight .. why not hire Chinese flight attendants for a dollar an
hour. <grins>.
