Does anyone else have any experience using these very high bonding tapes?
Particularly the 3M VHB tapes?I have found they appear to offer some exceptional
advantages and can even take the place of welding or riveting in many
circumstances. If not replacing they are great for holding in position while you
weld or rivet. I have attached some knive handles with them and have been
unable to make them slide, detach or fail in any way. I have also used them to
attach copper and brass to steel and used them on pot racks, candleholders, etc.

I first started using them some years ago when a baboon at a nearby safari
park pulled the vinyl strips off the side of my car. A friend gave me some VHB
tape to re-attach them , which is how they were originally attached. They
never came off.

Some are kinda pricey at say 1/2" x 36 yds @ about $50 to $150. But a little
goes a long way. The adhesive technology these days seems quite remarkable.
It's amazing the applications where they are using these tapes.

Be interested if anyone else has any experience with these VHB tapes.
