it is unusually warm in northern illinois. the past week has had
temperatures in the 50s. the one snowfall we have had is all melted.
many days were the heaters are off till dusk. christmas day we had a
fire in the fireplace more for atmosphere than to provide heat.
have had more rain in december than snow. my neighbors tell me that back
in the 50s and 60s there was snow on the ground from roughly
thanksgiving till march 15th.
