[TheForge] Flatter vs. set hammer

Welcome Harry..
I'll just pass on the same bit of advice I received when I first
announced my presence... I'm not sure if it came from Frosty or
someone else.. but it was along the lines of... "If you pose 1
question in this group and receive 10 replies, you will get 11
different answers"
You will need to decern the knowledgable replies from the educated
guesses. It can be kinda difficult as there are many subscribers that
speak fluent flatuence.
My philosophy being a 2nd year blacksmith student is.. "it's best to
keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than to open your mouth and
remove all doubt".. that is unless I feel really confident that I know
what i am talking about...that hasn't happened yet ;o)
Anyway welcome aboard and no question is too silly to ask.. safety is
paramount and the knowledge base here is vast! use it to find the
short cuts you need but keep in mind that any advice given is purely a
suggestion.. use it if you believe it to hold true and safe.
as for the rest of you beer swilling BBQ mauling lay abouts.. I will
soon be posting images of the various tools I have been forging this
week. (3 hammers 2kg and 2 x 1,5 kg) various tongs and anvil
'helpers'.. my english escapes me here.. aputyökaluja for those
Finnish speaking people.

Of course, in the meantime, Harry could always use his BBQ pit, a pile of hardwood charcoal, and his wife's hairdryer. I didn't want to give him too much grief 'cause I'm hopping he'll share the home brew!
