I'd say junk out the one you've got (saving any reusable parts, but
doesn't sound like you've got much) and buy or build yourself a
trailer that can do what you need it to do- like haul a ton of sand.
Those little 12 inch wheels suck- if nothing else, get yourself a
trailer you can put real wheels on- particularly if you're planning on
hauling it on the highway.
