Cantennas - great for focused wifi nets - we use them between houses when we run lans for gaming.
For the financially unimpared you can buy one here:

Or if you're like everyone else, slightly more time and a little skill (soldering) you can build your own using this page as a guide:

If your neighbor has removable antennas, you can replace one of the external antennas and point it at your house, then point yours at their house and zoom hardcore connection.
