David;
I just removed the funky cast aluminum handle and wired the 
cutting button closed...cut the weight way down...still awkward 
though.
For small build up work and a few other special applications, 
they're great. They are a low pressure, low flame velocity  torch 
with a gentle flame that produces a nice calm puddle.
I too went back to regular torches for most stuff....pf
