[TheForge] alternate energy sources

Hello Terry -

    I have been thinking about this and have decided that if you need a shop 
heater for a small shop, it might be sensible to get a small water heater 
and a household A-Coil for an air conditioning system.  Put a blower behind 
the A-Coil and viola! small shop heater.  As for the fuel for the heat, I am 
still paying substantially less for propane than anything else.  By staying 
with one company and renting their tank, I get a summer fill price that is 
substantially lower than the current price nearly every summer.  They can 
offer this because they buy early in the year themselves and fill their 
large tanks for the year.  Just 2 days ago, I got 239 gallons delivered for 
1.45 / gallon.  Of course, our 6-1/4 percent sales tax is added on to that, 
but it still comes out much cheaper than other fuels.  (Way cheaper than the 
diesel I put in my truck.)  We also pay 50 dollars a year for the tank 
rental.  They keep it painted, and in good condition.  I don't have to do 
anything with it at all but mow around it.  Seems to work out good for us.

    I have been thinking about a heater like this for my shop but jsut 
haven't gotten to it yet.  My boy is building a house and barn this year, 
and we are working with him every day of every weekend that it isn't 
raining.  I also just got a new job, so things have been hecktic here this 
year.  Maybe I will get it built before the winter is over.  I hope.
