[TheForge] Any recommendations on cutoff saws? Brands, etc?

Justin,

I bought a Milwaukee Portaband and a Makita cut off saw @ a pawn shop where
I bought a bunch of other stuff. The pawn broker agreed to guarantee every
thing to work ok or $$ back. I believe both these old tools would out last
the new HF stuff. These tools are worth repairing if they break; the HF
stuff is disposable like a broken hair dryer. Of course you could buy
several of the cheapies so when one dies in the middle of a project you have
a back up. As Dan said, the cheapies give up when you really need them.

Mostly 5/8 and under, some 3/4 pipe. Probably not a lot of quantity, but my
time is limited and I hate spending it using a hacksaw.

Considering the light duty I'm leaning toward the Harbor Freight.
