The only way that I can think of that this could be a problem is if  
there were residues of the acetylene in the equipment and you were to  
exceed 15 PSI. The acetylene wants to make metallic acetylides at  
high pressure and these are unstable and will explode. but I have  
never heard of this as a danger before.
