[TheForge] 1/2" electric hand drill

Lynn,
If there's one thing I appreciate it is a perfectly reasonable sounding
statement, which upon closer examination seems absurd, only to be more than
a little vindicated after a third evaluation :-)
At first glance, the cord length sounds plausible.
This is followed by the realization that it simply couldn't work that
easy--many decades spent gathering tooling expertise are surely needed!
Then, the memory of having noted this tendency time after time gives a
feeling of unease, which is made worse by the added thought that a quick
look at other details like how smooth the chuck feels when turned, and
whether or not the controls (triggers, locks, switches) work easily or tend
to jamb, etc., is also backing up what you say. My hands and eyes have been
processing this stuff for years without bothering to ask for my approval.
And finally comes the admission that you not only have a legitimate point,
but that it is likely to work out just as well as all my intimate knowledge
of power tools; it's appalling, simply appalling... >:-)))
