[TheForge] Build a power hammer?

Frosty,
You might consider making a mechanical hammer. You can order plans from
Clay since you can't get a compressor up there....Our tire hammers are not
Sahas, Big Blues or Khuns, but they do a good job and would be even cheaper
if you scrounge material. Are there junkyards or dumps with worn-out heavy-
(hydraulic) equipment near you?

Yes I know Dan but to Alaska?
He may be able to get a better rate than I can but even
if he trucked it here himself it'd cost thousands.
Somebody has to pay the freight. If he did it'd cost
him money to sell me a hammer and if I do, I'm back
where I started.
Heck, I don't have the money to insulate the shop
before winter so thinking about a power hammer is just
that, thinking, planning and yes, scheming. Who knows,
in a couple years I may be far enough ahead of the
curve to buy and ship.
