[TheForge] Natural gas burner?

Every time I search for flammable gas to air ratios I get a different site.
This one expressed everything in percentages and I actually had to use a
claculator! So, everybody here will know what went wrong if my numbers dont
line out properly. <grin>
A neutral, air : propane ratio is 16.5:1 or 6.06%. The min, max flammable
range chart I found this time says the flamable range is 2.1% - 10.1%.
Methane min, max flammable range is 5% - 15%. I didn't find the neutral burn
ratio, it was close to bed time and Red Green was on. <grin>
Assuming the neutral burn ratio is close to the middle of the min-max range,
10% or a 10:1 air : fuel ratio seems about right for methane. It may NOT be
right though, I don't have a chart at hand.
And as it works out mid range IS about right for propane at 6.06% or 16.5:1.
All this is interesting but you're going to tune your burners just the same
way regardless. You'll do it by eye and effect. It is of course handy to
have a place to start without having to guess at it too wildly.

it ain't real.
Wrought iron is.
