BILLY,BILLY,BILLY...........easy tigerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. ;-)
dont get your shorts in a knot.....;).......you've gotten tons of
help here. And you should have expected that you'd get a question or
two. Remember......there are no stupid questions.....?
OOOOOOOH I knew it was simple. :) usually is...
So....... your blueprint "required" that size. Who drew the scaled
design/plan.....or is that "Just" what happened......when you blew
it up? It just came out that way? So.....you didn't really design it
for that size, but looks about that size when you blew it up to
finished size? Was this a computer design....or by hand? Just curious
how you got into this situation........ IF it's a computer generated
design you can also scale your line (size/weight). so that your know
what you'll get when you take em to the blueprinters. fwiw.
I know many smiths that not only forge down stock to size but even
forge surface texture into whatever size that they are using.
Standard practice in many shops. These are usually professional
smiths with high paying commisions....but I also know some hobbyist
smiths that do too.
And I'm glad you've seen the light.......[" I can very easily make
do with a slightly larger size or sand or forge it down (which by the
way is what I plan to do)]...........if you'd have taken the advice
sooner your frustration in not finding the material would have been
LONG forgotten in your pleasure of making the project. And the
pleasure of forging the material down to size........what a great
story to accompany the project .LOL :)
BUT I didn't know you as well as say.....PATTY. She was wwwaaaaaaaaay
ahead of me. LOL :) I bet she's sayin....."I told ya".
so dont let the frustration get to ya.................and no need to
apologize for "lookin around". Sorry if my inquiry got to ya. It was
only my intention to help. I'm lazy...........whatever is the easiest
way to get to where I want to go......one or two frustrating calls
and I would have had the 12' length of material forged to size and
ready for the next step of the project. But we all do what works for
us. Can't wait to see the end result of your efforts..........
sincerely,
Bill
