Hi Kevin,
I really am not sure what it is in English.. in Finnish it is
'sinistettylevy'.. which basically translates into 'blue:d
sheetmetal'. in actual fact it is 1 mill sheet metal that come that
blue / black colour. Hopefully from that description someone else can
tell you what it is. I can not find anything in my wonderful Finnish /
English technical dictionary. The only chemicals used were
hydrochloric acid to clean the discoloured copper after the leave were
soldered, and acetone to clean the greasy finger prints off the
copper.
This "sinistettylevy" was placed there purely to make the leaves stand
out. Out of all the sketches shown to the customer this is the one his
WIFE chose.
