On the subject of huge steel blocks...
I came across a couple of 750# chambersburg die blocks. According to
the $50 knife shop, you can kind of stack weight and get the effect of
a much bigger anvil. I'f heard folks here scoff at that idea, and at
the moment I can't try it. Anyone? Does it work?
BTW (tiny commercial message) these things came as a package with 2
5'x5' x 1" tabletops with a 4" deep gridwork on 1" underneath. Old
railroad stuff. Very rigid, and super heavy, too big for me to move
across the country. Anybody need a table or a big ol block of tool
steel?
