I've been thinking about getting a TIG setup, I have MIG and stick and
gas, but I find MIG welding thicker steel to be annoying, and my stick
welder is flaking out enough that I need to replace it anyway.

Suggestions for what to look for, particularly for the hobbyist
blacksmith on a budget?
