I tend to agree with your recommendations.
I'd still like to know what specifically you feel Bealer's mistakes were?
I won't argue they were the "best" approach, nor that Bealer wasn't really a
smith. Heck, The Art of Blacksmithing was only one of his craft books.
If the thread gets hot we can blame Bob, he got me thinking about it. <grin>
