Stephan- a few years ago I met a great Finnish blacksmith,
Jouko Nieminen, who has his studio in Vantaa, which I believe is just 
outside of Helsinki. He works full time as a self employed artist 
blacksmith, doing ornamental as well as sculptural work.
He is technically extremely skilled, and quite a good artist as well.
You should go look him up- he is quite a nice guy, and I am sure he 
would let you visit his forge.

Though of Finnish descent, I have never been back to the homeland-
