That really sounds good, Jay. Do you think it would actually prevent  the log 
rests of andirons from being eaten away? Would you need to re-apply it  
regularly? I may not be inclined to mention it to my customers who come in every  
year or two to have new bars welded on but would like to know for my own  
benefit.
