[TheForge] Old World Anvils?????

Tod,
The Old World Anvils are good ones to use. I have a 118 lb. double horn that
I use as my portable anvil for demo's and a 205 lb. double horn for my shop.
I like them both very much. A friend of mine has the 167 lb. double horn and
he's pretty happy with it. The hardy hole is metric and translates to about
1 1/8 inches. A bit of an odd size but you can work around it. As for sizes
of shop anvils, I believe you should go for as big as you can afford. It's
usually easier to work a small project on a big anvil than it is to work a
big project on a little anvil. As for the double horn design, I like it the
more I use it. I first learned on London Pattern anvils, so it was a little
odd for me using the double horn, but now I prefer it.
Happy Thanksgiving!

I have a very pleasant dilemma. I get to pick out which anvil I get for
Christmas. I need to keep the cost to value ratio in check though. Does
anyone have, use, or know about the "Two Horn Classic" anvil that Old
World Anvils has on the web site? I like the design, and price but would
like to hear from anyone that has used this anvil. What about size I was
looking at the #167 anvil what is the benefit of larger? I am hand
hammering usually just myself occasionally a striker for larger projects.
I have been using an old Hay Budden and Yes I am keeping the old anvil as
my traveling anvil.
