[TheForge] Brand new

I agree with Dan. I did exactly the same thing just a few weeks ago. I
spent the morning in the library searching for pictures of oak
leaves.. only to see a friend drag a real one into the forge, stuck to
his snowy shoe. After I finished kicking myself for being an idiot.. I
went outside, searched for the nicest complete leaf, traced it and
using the plasma cutter, churned out 20 leaves from 1mm sheet metal. I
heated the metal (supposedly to make it more plyable) and beat them
into shape, (veins, stems and all). I did infact have to make 2
punches to shape the sheet metal.. one for the thin veins and a more
rounded one to fill out the 'lobes'.
I suppose you could use stock but the effort needed to complete a leaf
does not justify the income it draws. Sheet metal is quicker, easier
and the result is quite life-like.
