I can't believe the response that I got on the Rolling Mill.
Norm Larsons Addy is larbooks at impluse.net
The price is $25.00 plus about $3.00 for shipping.
You get a CD that you can print out, about 44 pages, reading it I got a
pretty good idea what it was all about. I guess the jist of it is a foot
pedal to press the lower roller up against the upper roller, you put a
billet between the rollers about 3/4 of the way in push down on the foot
pedal while pulling the billet out the front, release the pedal and put the
billet back in for another roll at the same time you adjust a hand lever
that raises the lower roller (cam action w 5 adjustments kind of like the
old emergency brake handles on Model A etc). Hugh says you can get about 3
rolls before reheating.

I started by making the frame then the uprights (I didn't like the 6"
channel as one would be bolting self aligning bearings on the tapered edge
so I welded 2 - 3" angle iron together) next I made the cam shaft 1 1/2
shaft with a cam turned down to 1" you can do this in the lathe by putting a
spacer on one jaw of your 3 jaw chuck, kind of tricky but it works, next a
cam follower just a 3/4" bar with a slot to go in the cam, then a kind of
quadrant with 5 adjustment holes that gets welded to the end of the cam
shaft, now I am working on the adjustable strut that goes up to the bottom
roller. I will continue as I progress, its raining here so a good excuse to
work in the shop.
If you want pictures send me your Email address I don't think I want to fool
with photoaccess now maybe later.
Mike Graf says that I can send pictures to Blacksmiths and he will make an
album, will probably do that.
I discovered the inner battery in my camera is bad so it will be a few days
till I can take pictures, meanwhile, I finished the adjustable strut and the
star nut for adjusting the strut, am now working on the handle for adjusting
the cam. Next I will take on making the carrier for the cam it involves
boring 3 pieces of 3/4x2 1/2x3 1/2 with 1 1/2 holes, can't decide whether to
bore first then weld together or weld first then bore. More later.
