[TheForge] Rolling mill

Hey Roland,
Love to see the building pics.
A few things worth noting.
Hugh McDonald built the press from scrap material lying around his farm, so
the materials list is not cast in concrete.
The critical parameters to concentrate on, are the billet dwell time between
the rollers. The the lag time to adjust the cam shaft and the pressure
needed to actuate the cam shaft.
The longer the billet stays in contact with the rollers, the more heat they
absorb and the faster the billet cools below working heat.
Ideally you should be able to get 3 passes on the billet from each heat.
One other improvement to make, is a simple, fast way to independently
adjust the clearance of both ends of the top roller. This would make it
easier to keep the long axis of the billet true or actually introduce a
desired curvature and taper to the blade.
