Just because you can find it on Google means you can find it on Google,
nothing more or less. Popular, but incorrect ideas can be found all over
the place on the internet. Googling for a phrase means nothing in
particular.

Time Cube is a theory/web page written by somebody who has very little
connection with reality.

Highly radioactive substances have a short half life, low level
radioactive substances have a much longer half life. Cobalt 60 is high
level gamma emitter, and what they use to irradiate food to sterilize it.
It's half life is 5 years. After 40 years, there isn't much of it left
except non-radioactive nickel. U-235 is long lived, but it isn't that
radioactive. But it is easily fissile, which allows it to produce heat and
short lived - highly radioactive decay products. There are technologies
that can deal with the waste. We aren't allow to use them.

Mild alpha emitter, non-fissile. You skin stops alpha particles.
The issue about DU relates to fine particles being inhaled. Two likely
sources of that are machining DU or being in a tank hit by a DU round. If
you are in a tank that has been it by it, you are probably already dead
from the extreme heat produced when it burns, if not by the hit itself.
The particles left over after it is burned can be a problem.

Tell you what though. You buy me a pound of DU (painted, not bare as is
standard for weights to avoid particle inhalation) I'll carry it in my
pocket for a year.

However, with this I'm dropping out of this discussion. It isn't even
close to smithing anymore, and I apologize for my part in topic drift.
