Well, the discussion about whether a sway backed anvil
is better than a flat one for straightening is a
rather religious one.  It's like the one about which
way does your horn point (you're welcome Chris).

But, what he asked was how thick the toolsteel face is
on a 400# Peter Wright.  I had a 301# Peter Wright. 
The face was probably 5/8" thick.  You can generally
see the parting line.
