I used to demo at a place that had a resterant next door. We would get our
quench oil from them. They were happy to give it to us since they had to pay
to have it hauled away. Anyway it was kind of nice when things smelled like
onion rings when quenched. I didn't care much for the stuff that smelled
like cat fish.
They did a big article about a guy in Missouri making a living converting
trucks to biodiesel. Acording to him the only difference was that the
veg-oil was thicker than fossle diesel, and required that it have a
pre-heater to thin it down.

Someone pointed out that the entire agricultural production of the US
would equal less than 20% of our fuel needs.
Generally speaking, I've always hated the waste of used deep fry oil and
the like..but if this biodiesel craze catches on, what are we gonna do
for quench oil? I's sure not going back to automotive drain oil!...Pete F
