I have heard, but have no proof, that "modern boiled linseed oil," is not
boiled, but has driers in it to simulate boild linseed.

FWIW

I went and looked at several (5) MSDS's for boiled linseed oil on the
net and not one of them listed any other ingredients other than
linseed oil , no driers or solvents, nada. None of the MSDS listed
any severe health hazards

>"Symptoms of Overexposure................	INHALATION: NONE
>EXPECTED. SEVERE OVEREXPOSURE MAY CAUSE COUGH AND IRRITATION OF
>RESPIRATORY TRACT. INGESTION: INEDIBLE - NOT BE TAKEN INTERNALLY.
>MAY CAUSE NAUSEA, VOMITING & DIARRHEA. SKIN CONTACT: NONE EXPECTED.
>EYE CONTACT: MAY CAUSE IRRITATION. "

and lots of info about fire danger. So I kind of wonder about the
source of information that was used for that article...
