I bought a $135 Chinese band saw ( Rong Foo brand...really!) and it must
have 300,000 miles on it by now....it has minced a lot of metal.
Oh sure, It has never been quite true, despite all my fiddling and I've
replaced the guide bearings and motor etc.....but it has been a hell of
a lot of tool for the buck!
I've come to feel that HF is pretty ugly....would only buy name brand,
familiar model tools from them...so much of their stuff has broken on
the second use.
Chinese tools are getting better fast...they are about to take over our
former role in the industrialized world and it's hard not to feel mighty
queasy about it....Pete F
